Fantastic First Day in our new Spaces!

 Hello All,

Two quick notices:

-Head lice are doing the rounds in Patiki. Please have a thorough check of your child's hair and treat as needed. Thank you for your support with this.

-Also in preparation for our school trip (more information coming out very soon) we need each child to bring along a 1.5 or 2 litre plastic bottle. Each child will make their own worm farm. Can you start sending in these bottles if you have any at home? Huge thanks with this.

Week 3 Term 4

WELCOME TO OUR NEW WAIMAIRI SCHOOL

-We are so excited to have moved into our beautiful new school. Please feel free to come and have a look through before school during the week. We open from 8.30am onwards. Just a reminder to use the side doors rather than coming through the reception area. One of us will be at the front school gate to direct Patiki children to the right entrance tomorrow morning.

-This Friday 30th October you are all welcome to attend the official opening of our school, this starts at 1.30pm. You are welcome to take your child/children home early after this event.

-This week we will be focusing on routines and expectations around our new space. You may find some days children bring home a reading book and other days they do not. The following week we will be back into normal reading routines.

-Just a heads up we will be going on a school trip Friday 20th November to the Curators House at the Gardens to investigate 'worm farms'. We will require parent help for this trip so please keep in mind this date and notices will be coming out soon.

HAVE A FABULOUS WEEK AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE OPENING CEREMONY THIS FRIDAY.

WEEK 2 TERM 4

 Hello Everyone

Here we are at Week 2 and it's moving week. My job started at Waimairi School in 2011 which was 3 weeks before the 22 February earthquake.

It feels like from then we have been researching, planning and building towards this new school. It's not been an easy process but good things are very rarely easy and believe me, this is a really good thing!

Mike Anderson, supported by his deputy principals, have done an amazing job in listening to the community, staff and pupils to deliver a school that we can all be proud of.

Please come to the community day on Thursday 22 October from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. The teachers will still be working on their classrooms so it will be a work in progress. Connect Waimairi (PTA) have arranged entertainment. There will be a sausage sizzle and chocolate wheel. The new coffee shop will be open too so bring some $$$.

KIRSTY

Kirsty will be back with us on Tuesday minus her wisdom teeth. The children made her a card with some advice about the tooth fairy!! Hope it was helpful.

SUNHATS

Term 4 is compulsory sunhat term. Thank you to those parents that have made sure their child has a named sunhat.

SKETCHING

We love sketching in Patiki and Matt (Graphic Artist by night...Learning Assistant by day).Sets a challenge for Patiki everyday. Mr Anderson spotted Harlow and Sally's city and thought it was quality.

LEGO CHALLENGE

This week Thomas suggested a board game or game for our lego challenge and the children really took up the challenge. Here are some marble runs that some of the children created.

Hope you all have a great week and we see you at the Community day.

Kind Regards

Tracy and Kirsty

Help us Move.

 Help us Move

The day is nearly here.... we need some additional help next week when we move most of the furniture and other items from rooms to the new learning spaces. Please fill in the google form by 1pm Monday if you can help. https:// forms.gle/BzZ5WyiQe22ZC4Pr6

There are many big items that need to be moved, so you won't need to go to the gym for your workout. We really appreciate any offers.

-Please make sure your child has a named drink bottle especially as we move into the warmer months.

-Also if your child has any reaction to CANCER SOCIETY SUNSCREEN 50t please let us know.

-Lastly, if you have any large boxes at home could you please bring them in to assist in our moving into the new school. Thank you very much.
