This week’s challenges:
Random Acts of Kindness
A random act of kindness is something you do for someone else without being asked. You need to do one each day. Here are some suggestions:
Pick up your toys.
Tidy your room.
Tidy your brother or sisters room.
Ring your Grandparent and check they’re O.K.
Set the table.
Empty the dishwasher.
Project
Some people are keen to carry on their project from last week. That’s fine. Otherwise ...
Plan your project on the plan.
Here’s some Autumn ideas:
-Design a bin for collecting leaves each day ready to put into the green bin.
-Make a leaf headband for your teddy.
-Draw, sketch, colour an Autumn art scene for your bedroom wall.
-Or create your own idea just like we do in Patiki. Get those imagination’s flowing.

You will need to take a photo and upload this onto Seesaw at the end of the week.
PE/Health/Well-being-Daily

Monday is wheels day. Get on as many different wheels as you have at your house.

Writing-Daily
Make a leaf man
(look out for a Seesaw link)

Write a story about his adventures.
Where does he live?
Who does he live with?
What does he eat?
What does he like to do?

Remember you can record this story anyway you like, paper is fine, old school book or on Seesaw.
Reading-Daily
Well done all of you who are accessing the books through Oxford Reading Tree. You are more than welcome to keep with this site or try another site we have found.

New reading site: Sunshine Online. Our school has signed up for a free 2 week trial. Feel free to log in to this website. If you do not know what reading level your child is at you can email us and we will let you know.

This site is slightly easier to navigate around and you can easily choose the exact books for your child’s reading level. (If you have your child’s reading folder at home check on the back of the book for the level, or email us)
Maths-Daily
In this activity we are going to  sequence days of the week. This activity works best if it can be developed over the week. It will just take a couple of minutes each day.
Resources:
  • Paper strips for the days of the week to be written on. Use 2 colours, one colour for weekdays and another colour for the weekend.
  • Staples or sellotape

Here are the days of the week in Māori and English.
Rāhina – Monday,
Rātu – Tuesday,
Rāapa – Wednesday,
Rāpare – Thursday,
Rāmere – Friday,
Rāhoroi – Saturday,
Rātapu – Sunday.
On Monday get a strip of paper with Monday written in both English and Māori. Join the ends of the paper strip to form a circle.
On Tuesday/Rātu add another circle.
Keeping adding the days in order.
At the end of the day tell someone what happened for you on that day.
